OFCOM
App based real time measurement for a UK government approved authority
challenge
A government approved authority had commissioned Ofcom to measure and publish mobile connectivity reach within the UK. The project also aimed to understand UK’s usage of key mobile apps and in general their smartphone usage.
OUR APPROACH
We undertook an end-to-end project management role to work alongside the software providers in order to design and implement an app based passive measurement piece of analysis, catered specifically to the communications industry. Tested and internally piloted the app within the organisation before a full launch, followed by working with the PR and marketing team to promote the app among the general public to create a crowd sourced and balanced sample of 5000+ respondents spread across the UK geography. We then analysed and reported on the data generated by the app, and key components of download to prepare a project scope for future use and to identify risk and recommendations for the overall research methodology.
THE INSIGHT
Dealers have a plethora of insurance options to choose from; with multitude of additional services that they provide as add ons. There are specific pain points and gaps in the industry that they look for support on, especially in Mexico. Electric Vehicles’ insurance is one such area and needs more research to help make the product viable for customers.
THE IMPACT
Strategies and ‘go to market’ approaches were developed as a result of this research to better position the existing product portfolio amongst the biggest customer group for the insurance provider.
