Understanding accounting software preference within the accounting community
challenge
An organisation dealing with accounting software wanted to help accountancy software providers by conducting qualitative surveys about whether they are performing well and where they need to improve their products and services for users benefit. They wanted to measure changes in performance over time and identify which vendors are improving or deteriorating against key metrics.
OUR APPROACH
As a research provider, we run multiple tracking and adhoc surveys among their users, including a wave-on-wave study ran to analyse the preferences of users when it comes to selecting an accountancy software for their use. We led the client liaison, fieldwork management, reporting and analysis for this piece of research.
THE INSIGHT
Software preference differs by company size. Software users tend to be positive towards their most used software package. Software mostly meets needs, but there is a strong desire for innovation and the ability to offer self-service tools which make the processes simpler, requiring less help from contact centres.
THE IMPACT
They regularly publish key insights from our research reports on their website, providing valuable guidance to its readers in making informed decisions about which software to choose.
